Friday Finds

Well Mother's Day is right around the corner so I thought I would dedicate this Friday Finds to some Mother's Day gift ideas. Now some of them you probably have to order right away to get them in time (sorry about that). Hope you enjoy!

First, here is one quick and easy craft idea to add a special little touch to those of you who like to give flowers. My favorite blog Under the Sycamore made a Do It Yourself Hairpin Vase. You can find the directions here.

Another quick and easy craft idea for those special women in your life, is this cute and adorable Party Flower from Design Sponge.

And for those of you who want to leave the crafting to someone else, here are a few etsy finds that you might enjoy...

All About Little Sister

Since yesterday's post was about Big Brother and his vacation fun, today's will be about Little Sister. She had a lot of fun as well and much like Big Brother, was a great little traveler. Every flight we received compliments about how well behaved they were.

This is my view from the front seat when I look back to check on my kiddos...

She loved Sea World too :)

Her very first swim, she enjoyed it and was very mad when I made Daddy take her back out because I thought the water was too cold.

She really enjoyed meeting Mickey Mouse. She spent the time grabbing and eating his nose...I wish I could have taken a picture of this, but the photographer had our camera and she didn't snap it (total bummer)

Getting ready to head to the zoo

She had a fun time freaking Daddy out too:) He is afraid of heights and we went up in the Skytram (the buckets that are attached to wires, he swore they were not safe, but what a sport he went up with us anyway). She kept bouncing up and down which he said was going to make us fall off the track...

Totally beat:)

All About Big Brother

Well we are back from our vacation and it was an absolute blast! San Diego was beautiful and a ton of fun. The trip involved a lot of firsts for our family as a whole and also individuals. This post will focus on Big Brother and some of his firsts...

This was not Big Brother's first time on an airplane, but the first time that he was old enough to have his own seat:) We packed him his own little bag pack of goodies, doesn't he look like such a professional traveler...

On our second flight, Big Brother looked out the window and said, "Look Marshmallows" he meant clouds, but how cute is that!

Our first full day in San Diego was spent at Sea World. Big Brother really had no idea what to expect and at first he was a little scared, but he quickly warmed up and by the end of the day he said he wanted to swim with Shamu.

About to pet a starfish

Big Brother's response to the meal we are about to feed the seals

The second day was Disneyland...probably Big Brother's favorite because he got to see, "Lightning Mcqueen!"

The third day was the San Diego Zoo

After the Zoo and dinner, we were on our way back to the hotel to go swimming. Joe asked Big Brother, Do you want to go and get some ice cream?" Big Brother's response, "No, are you kidding me? We have to get to the water!" He is my little comic.

And finally, Big Brother being a BIG Helper! I love him!

I enjoy my son so very much and to watch him while we were on this trip made me so proud to be his mother. Granted he is in his "terrible twos" and some things are more dramatic then they need to be, I still wouldn't trade the ability to spend this time with him for anything in the world. He is my energetic, sweet ham of a child and everyday he amazes me. Thank you Lord for blessing me with him!

Friday Finds

"All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go..." Well actually, I'm probably about to board my second flight by the time this is posted. We are in route to San Diego for our first family vacation (actually, my husband and I have been married for almost 4 years and this is our first vacation, pretty sad). I hope you have a great weekend and week and I'll post pictures once I return.

Doesn't he look like he's ready to go to Disney?!?!

And of course, Friday wouldn't be complete without a Friday Finds!

One of my favorite blogs to read is Lemon Tree Creations
Every day they have new craft and home decor ideas that are inexpensive and easy for almost anyone to do. A few weeks ago I came across this post for Family Blocks!

I'm still gathering all my pictures for it, but it is a great little tool for those of you who live far away from family like I do. One of the hardest things for me is to know that my kids really don't know who my parents are because we only get to visit them once a year. This is a great way for them to recognize a face with a name! I'll post more pictures of mine once they are complete. Hope you enjoy this project!

Busy Busy Busy

Wow, I can't believe it's Thursday already! We've been pretty busy this week and that has obviously not been conducive to my blog, sorry about that. We spent the first part of the week in Montana by my in-laws. The kiddos had lots of fun with Grandpa and Grammie, it's always hard for Big Brother to leave them. Most of his time was spent playing with Grammie, whether it was baking cookies, reading books, going to the park, or playing with these little guys...

Yep, there are some new lab pups! If you are looking for a great dog, message me and I will get you the info, there are chocolate and black available!

Little Sister had fun too, mostly because there were new things for her to chew on. She is teething like crazy. She also liked Grandpa and Grammie's table because she could reach out for things, unlike at home :)

In other news, Little Sister now says "MOM MOM MOM MOM!" Daddy is a little jealous because both kids have said Mom first, actually this time he refuses to hear her saying it:) Now she doesn't actually know what she is saying, but it counts right :)

Tomorrow there will be a "Friday Finds" post, but then we will be on vacation in sunny San Diego for 5 days! So I won't be able to post, but I will post pictures when we get back!

Friday Finds

Lately I have been doing some online shopping as I have been trying to redecorate rooms in my house. There are a lot of good finds out there! Some of which I may never use, but I thought that maybe my readers would like to know about them :)

With that said, I am dedicating Friday's to "Friday Finds." This may be other blogs that I have read during the week, great shopping deals, or just random things that I "find" online. I hope that you enjoy this new addition to my blog :)

I LOVE ETSY!...wait, let me say that again, I LOVE ETSY! If you haven't visited this site you, you are missing out! This is a must! Here are a few things I have found recently...

My Veggie Girl

Little Sister has been eating baby food regularly for almost a month now. You would think by that time she would be pretty accustomed to it, but everyday I still get funny faces out of her. She seems to be not a "sweet" eater. She would much rather eat her veggies then her fruit anyday. I guess that's a good thing, just unexpected.

Butternut Squash, one of her favorites! I think she really likes it since I make it myself:) Watch for another post about that in a couple of days...

Desperately Waiting for Spring

This post is a little later then I expected because it has actually been nice the past couple of days. A few days ago Big Brother desperately wanted to play with the bubble wand Grandma had sent him for Easter. I had told him he couldn't play with it until it was nice outside. Apparently he thought I meant that he could go outside right now because about five minutes later he had his "Slippy Shoes" (slippers) on and was asking me to put on his coat.

He was so cute that I gave in and let him go outside, pj's and all...

Stickers Stickers Stickers

We have been working on potty training with Big Brother for about a month now. He does really well when I am proactive about it! Unfortunately, having a sick family the past two weeks hasn't allowed for that, so we have been hit and miss. One of my ways for encouragement for him has been stickers (which he loves). You can tell from these pictures it was a good day, he got lots of stickers...good for him, unfortunate for little sister...

Unfortunate for me, I have a hard time snapping pictures of Big Brother lately...I bought a new camera about a month ago (I'm sure you noticed the quality change in my pictures, right :). Anyways, I am trying to shoot in full manual and by the time I get the settings right, Big Brother has usually run off. So since Little Sister is currently a slow mover, I am able to get many more pictures of her.

I'm Really Not Good at This...

at keeping up with this blog that is. I can read other people's blogs religiously everyday and never even considering writing on my own :)

Lots has happened since my last post, I've repainted the living room and started redecorating it. I will post pics once the room is complete. Joe calls it my "freak" room. Mainly because it has no theme (apparently that is a must for him). I am getting this picture on canvas to put up in it...

(Also know I got this creative picture idea from my favorite blog, Under the Sycamore, check out the button on this page)

Little Sister also turned 6 months old a few weeks ago! I can not believe that she has been with us 6 months already! Big Brother loves her so much, every morning when he wakes up, one of of his first questions is "Where's Tista."

I also decided I was going to take her 6 month pictures myself, so I made an attempt (not a very good one, but I tried). The weather hasn't been cooperating around here either, so maybe when it starts to get nice again I will have more success!

And of course Easter! We spent a great morning and potluck with our church family, and then we were able to have my in-laws with us to celebrate. We had lots of fun celebrating the gift of our Savior!
